I have over 20 years of experience working in the field. I am a graduate from Eastern New Mexico University and received my degree in Social Work. I have worked with persons of all ages and diversity and continue to enjoy working with so many amazing individuals. I have knowledge working with SSA, elder services, child services, social services, Medicare, Medicaid, disability, veterans and many other programs in NM. I enjoy being a part of Visions Case Management and providing services to so many wonderful individuals who receive DDW services across the state.

I come from a large family and enjoy so many of New Mexico’s wonderful traditions, foods and culture. New Mexico’s diversity and beauty is what I enjoy the most. I love being outdoors and spending time with my family. In my spare time, I love hiking, fishing and taking pictures of our beautiful state. I enjoy meeting new people and being introduced to different cultures and foods, so I take the opportunity to try new things.

I have been working in social services for 12 years. I joined Visions in 2025 and am happy to be part of this team! I have a BA in Art Therapy and graduated from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. I have worked with both youth and adult populations in education and therapeutic settings throughout my career. With Visions I am the DD Waiver Regional Lead serving the northeast region of the state. Originally from the northern Illinois area, I have lived in New Mexico for 7 years. I lived in Jemez Springs and now Albuquerque, and have a deep fondness for this state and the people living here. I enjoy being outdoors and in the mountains hiking, climbing... Moving is important for me. I teach yoga, and have been practicing close to 20 years. I enjoy playing guitar and making music with others. Tea, biking, dancing, reading, and a good belly laugh are simple things I enjoy.

Andrea Miranda, Case Manager
I joined the Visions team in May 2018 but have been in the field for about 7 years in different roles prior to this position. Most of my background is in the social services sector. I’ve worked in different roles in the DD waiver and did case management for troubled youth for some time. I was born in California and moved to Santa Fe New Mexico with my family when I was 3, I have been here since then. I have served different regions of New Mexico along my years of experience; in my previous job, half my caseload resided in Espanola and in Rio Arriba county. In my current position with Visions, I serve in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. I’m extremely passionate about my job and enjoy what I do very much! I have two boys that keep me extremely busy when I’m not working. All the things I enjoy doing outside of work revolve around them. Some of my favorite things to do with my children include road trips, camping, and being involved in their school events. During my free and alone time, I enjoy hiking and love a spa day when I can get away with one!

April Maestas, Case Manager
I have been with Visions Case Management for almost 5 months. Before I became a Case Manager, I worked for another agency in the DD waiver field. I have an abundance of background experience in the following roles/departments: Direct Care Staff, Quality Assurance, Human Rights Committee Coordinator, House Manager, CCSI Manager with 30 Clients and 6 Staff.
I wanted to become a case manager and utilize my skills that I have learned throughout my years of experience in the field. After a year of asking many questions and getting answers from other Case Managers, I finally decided to fix my resume and apply for a job with a case management agency. I am so grateful to Visions for giving me the opportunity to become a Case Manager and utilize those skills. I enjoy the outdoors and going to our family Cabin. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and making memories with my husband and grandkids. This job has allowed me to do all the wonderful things that I enjoy; I have met so many new families and have had the opportunity to help them with the things they need to thrive. Visions is a wonderful place to work, as the other Case Managers, admin and Supervisors are so helpful and kind. I work hard and try to do the best I can, as I am still learning something new every day.

Macy Murry, Regional Lead
I’m a Regional Lead with Visions and have been with the team for a little over a year. Before joining Visions, I spent eight years as a Special Education teacher, where I focused on supporting children individually within the school system. That experience inspired me to move into my current role, where I can help families navigate supports and services in the home and community.
Originally from New Orleans, I earned my degree from the University of New Orleans in 2017 and moved to New Mexico a decade ago. It has been incredibly rewarding to build my home and career here. Outside of work, I stay busy with my four-year-old son, and we spend most of our time exploring and enjoying life together as a family.

Becky Cappadonia, Consultant
I’m so excited to be working for Visions Case Management and Consulting. I grew up in western New York in a very small town where my family is from. My great grandmother even taught in a one room schoolhouse there. I received my masters degree from Ithaca College in Occupational Therapy in New York. I have lived all along the east and Gulf Coast. I landed in New Mexico almost four years ago and I just love it here. I am excited to support programs that allow people with disabilities to participate in life and contribute towards their community. As an occupational therapist I believe that all people should have access to services that allow them to live life to the fullest. I love to watch others grow to their best potential. When I’m not working, I’m helping my partner with her three kids—one of whom has special needs—as well as tinkering around the house. I also enjoy looking for ways to enrich my community and spend time outdoors.

Beth Marquez, Consultant
Hi, I'm Beth! I have been with Visions since 1999! I started as a DDW case manager and now am a Mi Via consultant. I am from Pennsylvania and went to college at East Stroudsburg University, where I received my bachelor's degree in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work. I have lived in Santa Fe for over 25 years. When I am not working I am usually spending time with my family. My two boys keep me busy with their activities and sports. I love watching them play baseball, spending time outdoors and with friends.

Brenda Herrera, Consultant
Hello! I’ve been working in this field for the past 6 years, but my journey started long before that. After spending 10 years on dialysis and receiving my second kidney transplant, I gained a firsthand understanding of how challenging it can be to navigate medical systems, diagnoses, doctors, and MCOs. That experience shaped my passion for advocating for others and supporting families through difficult moments.
I’m originally from Mexico but grew up in a small town in southwest Kansas. I graduated from the University of New Mexico and have proudly called New Mexico home for the past 20 years.
Before joining this field, I worked in the legal field as a paralegal and Spanish/English translator, helping families with kinship and guardianship, DV and VAWA. Those experiences strengthened my belief that advocacy and clear communication can make a huge difference in people’s lives.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me reading a good book, working on a DIY project, serving at my church or trying out new food place. I truly enjoy building meaningful relationships with my clients and walking alongside them and their families on their journeys.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Government from New Mexico State University. I grew up in Los Angeles, California and resided in Las Cruces for 6 years before moving to Albuquerque. I have lived in Albuquerque for over 13 years and really enjoy the city. I will be covering a Statewide caseload with the majority of my Participants being in the South and Southeast region of the state. My hobbies include bowling, basketball, watching movies and being physically active. I enjoy going to the gym, bike riding, hiking and being outdoors. I spend most of my time off with my girlfriend and our pets.

Elena Cole, Consultant
I have been working at visions as a Mi Via Consultant for about 8 years. I am the mother of 2 a daughter and a son who blessed me with, 6 grandkids and 2 great grandkids. I enjoy going fishing, gardening, and cooking. I have 37 years experience working with individuals with special needs. I had my own child with numerous special challenges, I drove the bus for pre school, worked in the classrooms as an aid in her classes, I provided respite for several individuals. My daughter of 29 years taught me profound patience, resilience, and adaptability. She taught me the value of approaching challenges with a fresh perspective while maintaining composure in high pressure situations. How to be a Fierce Advocate. Learning to live in the present moment and embrace the people who are there to support you emotionally. Unfortunately she passed 17 years ago, that's when I began my journey to share my knowledge and wisdom wit families and their individual with disabilities. I understand the frustrations when things are array, not only with your individual but with the system and many entities who have to enter in your lives, but also all the good stuff. I have worked as a Coordinator for 2 different companies, then I met a wonderful woman who convinced me to become a Consultant and here I am. I feel very blessed to be working in this field and working for this Amazing agency.

Christine Lawson, Support Broker
In November of 2017, I had the pleasure of joining the Visions Case Management team as a Support Broker. My professional and personal experience goes back many years. Since 2001, I have had the honor of working with many of New Mexico's best nonprofit organizations and with various vulnerable populations. I have enjoyed serving individuals who have developmental disabilities, severe mental illness, struggles with homelessness, and children with profound medical needs. Along with my professional experience, I have 19 years of personal experience given to me by my son who had profound developmental disabilities and was medically fragile. My son passed away in 2008 at the age of 19 years old. The experience my son provided me has given me the ability to view the world through eyes that choose to see love and a heart that feels compassion. After my son's passing, I pursued my education and obtained a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. I am a native New Mexican and live in Albuquerque where I enjoy being active in my church community, spending time with my family, enjoying nature, reading, and most recently trying my hands at arts and crafts. I currently serve members in Central, Eastern and Southern New Mexico and the Albuquerque area. I look forward to meeting you!

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, I moved to Albuquerque six years ago and have fully embraced the New Mexico lifestyle. I am proud to serve members statewide, connecting with families across our diverse local communities to ensure they have the resources they need to thrive.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, I stay active through exercise and find balance in creativity as an artist. I’m a devotee of cultural dance and live music, and I love exploring historical sites. My favorite way to recharge is spending quality time with my husband and teenage son, playing with our pets, and catching the world-class New Mexico sunsets.

Antwaun Smith, Care Coordination Regional Lead
I have been a Regional Lead Care Coordinator at Visions Case Management since the Summer of 2025. I have worked in various speech communities in New Mexico for six years. I have knowledge from working with DDS, HCA/DHI and child services to name a few. I am passionate about helping to make a positive impact and inspire lives. I am honored to be a part of the solutions to the various challenges that may arise. I am also honored to provide exemplary service to those in need and I am looking forward to the many friendships that develop throughout this journey.

Cherry Cannon, Care Coordination Regional Lead
I was born, raised, and spent the majority of my life in the Philippines before moving to the United States in 2017, where I began my new journey in Arizona. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, which I earned in 2000, and later completed my Bachelor’s in Nursing in 2009.
Before relocating to the U.S., I worked as a Regional Information Officer II and Training Specialist I for the Department of National Defense’s Office of Civil Defense in Region VI. In this role, I was responsible for empowering communities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from both man-made and natural disasters.
Upon moving to Arizona, I began my career as a caregiver at a care home, eventually advancing to the role of Disaster Recovery Coordinator I with the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (AZDEMA). Later, I served as a Senior Program Supervisor for Sexual Abuse Survivors at Catholic Charities Community Services.
In August 2024, my family relocated to New Mexico, where I worked as a Care Coordinator at Christus St. Vincent. I later made the decision to become a full-time mom before transitioning into my current role at Visions as one of the Regional Leads for the Mi Via Waiver program.
Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my two children. When I have free time, I enjoy activities like diamond art and baking, which help me unwind. Arts and crafts, journaling, and writing poetry have always been soothing outlets for me. However, I would say that singing—no matter the occasion—is my true emotional release. The music I listen to reflects my mood in the moment, allowing me to express my feelings in a way words sometimes cannot.
I am deeply passionate about helping others and live by the principle I teach my children: "Always choose to be kind." I believe that kindness and compassion create a ripple effect—what you give to others will come back to you when you need it most. A simple smile or a "hello" could be the very thing someone needs to brighten their day.

Yered MadRo, Care Coordination Regional Lead
I began my healthcare career as a Licensed Nursing Assistant in 2012, gaining extensive hands-on experience in direct patient care across diverse settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, hospice care, mental health, labor and delivery, oncology, and as a Respite Provider. I’ve also worked as a health coach alongside primary care providers and supported individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, serious mental illness (SMI), and intellectual disabilities. I remain an active Licensed Nursing Assistant and continue to provide direct patient care, which allows me to stay closely connected to the individuals and communities I serve.
My background also includes care coordination, where I developed a strong understanding of the challenges faced by our most vulnerable populations and worked to connect them with the care and resources they need most.
Throughout my career, I have held various administrative and leadership roles that strengthened my communication, team management, and problem-solving skills. These experiences shaped my ability to lead with empathy, maintain operational excellence, and foster collaboration across departments.
I am passionate about leveraging technology to enhance processes, support data-driven decision-making, and elevate the quality of care coordination services we provide. Whether managing systems, guiding teams, or developing innovative solutions, my goal is to create meaningful and lasting impact for both clients and staff.
Originally I'm from Guadalajara, Mexico, I relocated from Arizona to New Mexico in February 2025 with my wife of 16 years and our two children. Outside of work, I find balance and inspiration in nature whether I’m creating art, gardening, helping others, or caring for our farm animals.
